Due to an administration error on my part I have accidentally deleted all recently registered members who had not logged in after being approved.

If you have been approved and received the Welcome email but cannot log in, please re register.

My sincere apologies. I blame GDPR.

Posting this here so that members trying to register can see it too.

The forum is currently having issues with sending emails to hotmail and outlook addresses.  These include -

- Welcome and Registration emails to new members
- Forgotten password reminders
- New Private Message notifications

For new members trying to register who use a hotmail address, please either register with a different email address or wait 24 hours and then try and log in with your username and password.  Your membership request will have been approved, you just won't get the emails.

For existing members who have a hotmail email address registered on the forum, please don't use the PM facility until this has been resolved, or change your email address on the forum, as I am getting the 'failure to send' notification as the administrator - and it includes the original PM.  I promise I have deleted them all immediately without reading them and have come on as soon as I figured out what was going on to let you know.

I am working with Microsoft at the moment to hopefully get this sorted as soon as possible.

Will update when the issue has been resolved.

Sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

Hi guys,

I just wanted to remind you, and we've had a few new members recently, to ensure your privacy by making sure your email address doesn't show to other members, by making it private.

Just to go over the process though, if you want to hide your email address, log on, go to 'Profile' in the blue tab at the top of the screen, click on 'Account Related Settings' on the left hand side and check the box which says 'Hide Email From Public'. You will still see your email icon in posts but others will not.

Thanks. Any queries don't hesitate to ask.

Hello Everyone,

We've had a number of concerned queries about the fact that your email icon shows up in your posts even if you've ticked the box saying you don't want it to be visible.

Just to let you know, even though you can see it, no one else can.

When we upgraded the forum (a regular activity which happens every 18 months or so) the new upgrade included this function - and sadly it's not something we're able to change from this end. It's a pain to be honest because it's very confusing and causes understandable concern.

If you have any worries about this at all, do get in touch with either myself or one of the moderators.

Just to go over the process though, if you want to hide your email address, log on, go to 'Profile' in the blue tab at the top of the screen, click on 'Account Related Settings' on the left hand side and check the box which says 'Hide Email From Public'. You will still see your email icon in posts but others will not.

Best regards,

Alex.
